The nearest airport to Capri is Napoli Capodichino. Here's how to get to the island after landing: Bus - As soon as you leave the terminal, look for the Alibus shuttle line that runs from the airport to the center of Naples. The bus makes three stops: the first in Piazza Garibaldi, the second at Calata di Massa (where many ferries depart), land the third at the port, near Molo Beverello. Tickets cost EUR 5 and can be purchased on board or online.
Taxi - the taxi stand is located at the exit from the terminal. Request the fixed fare for the port ( €21) and do not accept rides from those who offer them inside/outside the airport, as they are not licensed. Please pay special attention to these subjects: the only authorized taxis are the ones who are at the taxi stand. Not all the taxi are equipped for credit card payment. If you wish to use this method of payment please give this info to the driver before jumping on board.

Otherwise, you can take Linea 1 of the underground subway: the Piazza Municipio stop towards "Piscinola". After exiting the underground, you will need to walk about 100 meters to the port. As an alternative option you can use the Alibus shuttle,w hich is coming from the airport (see above).

From mid-March to the beginning of November, non-resident vehicles are not allowed on the island. For those who would like to come by car, they can reach the port of Naples and then park there their vehicles You may choose one of these car-parks: Apcoa Urban Parking, Parcheggio Buono
On the motorway, past the toll-collector's cabin of Naples (coming from Rome), follow the signs indicating "Porto" and "Zona Portuale". After about 20 minutes -driving along Via Marina- you will reach Piazza Municipio and Beverello Harbour. Alternatively, driving along Via Marina, you will reach Varco Pisacane, the two public entrances to "Calata Porta di Massa" Harbour.
Transfer to the Port of Naples
In Naples, there are two piers from which ferries to Capri depart: Molo Beverello and Calata di Massa. The Molo Beverello pier is located in front of Maschio Angioino in the Piazza Municipio, the Calata di Massa pier is located further east (to the left, facing the sea). Check here the map.
High speed ferries depart from Molo Beverello, and fast & slow ferries from Calata di Massa. Fast Ferries (50 mn) and slow ferries (85 mn) are more affordable and slower than high speed ferries (40mn) and are the only vessels which can embark motor vehicles.
Schedules and prices change often: check again the day before you are scheduled to travel or contact the ferry companies directly.
Tickets can be bough online on the official website of the main companies who are operating between Naples and Capri. In this case please consider that the file you will receive after completing your purchase is not a valid ticket for travelling. Companies will send you a voucher you'll have to change at the ticket counter of the port before embarking.
TIPS x SEASICK: During the summer months, you won't have problems as the sea is generally quite calm. Regardless, here are some suggestions for those who are seasick: choose a ferry or slow ferry, rather than a high speed ferry, Sit in the back rows., don't look out the window, and listen to music.
Arrival in Capri
Your arrival point in Capri is Marina Grande Port, that is the main port of the island. From Marina Grande you have 3 options to reach your hotel/final destination:
FUNICOLARE (Cablecar)
To get to the center of Capri from Marina Grande, the fastest method is the funicular, which climbs uphill through lemon groves and drops you directly in the Piazzetta.
The Funicolare ticket office in Marina Grande is not located at the entrance of the funicular, but at the end of the arrival pier to the right (facing land), near the high speed ferry ticket offices.
Hand luggage may be taken on board for free, but there is a surcharge of EUR 2.20 for larger bags. Dogs who are leashed and muzzled can be brought on board, but you must purchase a EUR 2.20 ticket for them
PUBLIC BUS
Don't picture large city buses: public buses on Capri are minibuses which carry about 10 passengers seated, as large buses wouldn't be able to navigate the narrow island lanes! In the summer, these might be crowded and that's why it is preferrable to use the Funicolare.
The Public buses ticket office in Marina Grande is located at the end of the arrival pier to the right (facing land), near the high speed ferry ticket offices. The bus stop is 50mt after on the right side
TAXIS
Taxis are available at the port of Marina Grande. The taxi stand is located at the end of the pier. Taxi drivers on Capri are very friendly and courteous and their taxis are often open-top, for a great island experience. Fares are metered, though there are fixed fares for common routes.
The trip from the port to the center of Capri costs about €20, including bags. Island taxis can transport up to 6 people. If you are travelling in a small group, it's cost-effective to book a taxi.
